Founded and led by Holly Maitland McKenna, Aquatics By Design, LLC brings Red Cross–aligned swim instruction and lifeguard training to the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area.
Meet Holly Maitland McKenna
Holly has spent her career on the pool deck — teaching swimmers of every age, certifying lifeguards, and training the instructors who teach the next group. She started Aquatics By Design because too many kids in our area were growing up without the one skill that could save their life.
Every program she runs follows the same rule: a child should feel safe before they're asked to be brave.
Our mission
Teach swimming as a life skill, make water safety normal in every household, and give families confidence that their swimmer knows what to do in and around water.

Instructors hold current American Red Cross certifications and are re-checked every season.
